Finding the ‘Dress’ … Blog takeover by Chloe

For my blog takeover, I thought it appropriate  to write a post on the most important subject in my life at the moment …. My wedding.

Just under a year to go, and I already have my venue, catering, entertainment, cake and save the dates sorted.

After waiting over ten years for Danny to finally decide to give into my nagging and pop the question, I have been most excited about finding the dress. Five boutiques and thirty dresses later, I am pleased to announce I have found ‘the One’ – however unlike what everyone said “You will know as soon as you try it on” – I didn’t! My mum puts this down to be being a Gemini, and typically extremely indecisive about most things, but I think it’s because I simply tried on too many styles…

I’ve tried …

  • The classic lace dress (the one I envisaged myself in)…
  • Long sleeves…
  • Fish tails…
  • Glitzy evening ones…
  • Unusual ones…
  • Even meringues…

I was so excited when I found this dress –https://theweddingshop.uk/collections/suzanne-neville-heather – Only to be shot down after learning it was £3,400 (for a dress I would  be wearing for not much more than 12 hours!)

I feel like ‘the dress’ is the element of the wedding people (women) are most excited about, so I felt a pressure to get it right.

After going round the houses and hearing my mum say a million times “Oooohh yeah … I love it” (not very helpful when you are trying to get your final selection down to a minimum of threeDress 3), I finally settled on a dress, which is completely the opposite to what I thought. Although you will have to wait for the photos, I will tell you it is extremely plain, simple, but classic. I wanted to choose something I know I wouldn’t regret and was timeless and I think that’s what I’ve got.
