What we did this month : April
We can’t believe we’ve now had our first full month working from home – it’s safe to say we won’t ever forget this period, and the challenges it has brought. Although it is nice that our commutes to and from the office have now been reduced to a few steps!
A big focus of the month (as with every month but even more important now) has been keeping our clients happy. It’s not been the easiest time for businesses, and we are determined to support our clients as best we can – extra activities have been thrown in, and we have also reached out to some old clients to lend a helping PR hand! Lisa has also done some new business pitches, albeit virtually, and it is great news that we have some new brands in the midst…whoop whoop!
Working from home has meant an increase in the amount of time spend chatting to the team, as what would normally be a quick discussion in the office is complicated by Google Hangouts, WhatsApp, Slack and email! Being home 24/7 also means that Lisa has to hide in her office upstairs as bumpPR’s cheeky monkeys Toby and Otto are experts in seeking her out!
Influencer work has been high on our agenda this month, as Kit & Kin launched their new reusable nappy – created from almost entirely sustainable and plant-based materials, including ECONYL® regenerated nylon – a world first for this product category! We feel super proud to work for such an eco-friendly brand that is helping the world naturally and keeping tiny bums protected too! Award-winning preschool dance company diddi dance have also been hitting living rooms up and down the country with their virtual lessons – and our influencers have been loving getting involved!
With people being stuck at home, what better time than to launch Skillmatics, a brand which develops innovative products to build children’s core skills and reinforce key learning concepts. Created by educational specialists, the fun range engages young learners as they experience the joy of discovery and self-learning. Perfect for rainy days spent indoors!
Bravado Designs launched their new Pink Leopard Original Nursing Bra, which saw us celebrating the 90’s and dancing to a playlist full of tunes from 1992 (the year Bravado was founded). BuggyBoard have also had a busy month, with 2 new designs – Outer Space and Unicorn – the perfect accessory for those daily walks.
Our resident experts, Dr Joanna Helcké, and Angela Spencer, have been in high demand too. Dr Jo has now made her online pregnancy, postnatal & busy mums fitness programmes available to everybody! Angela’s “Stress During Pregnancy” course launched this month, encouraging women to take time to put their feet up and de-stress – easier said than done in these current times!
One of the biggest changes to our work life to come from COVID-19 is The Big Breastfeeding Café. Whilst the event itself may be postponed, we’re so pleased we can still offer support and celebration for expectant and breastfeeding mums virtually! Make sure you visit Medela’s social pages on the 6th May to get involved with competitions, Instagram/Facebook lives, expert advice and lots more.
Who knows what the next four weeks hold, but hopefully it won’t be too much longer before team bump are reunited. Whilst client work goes on as normal, it’s safe to say we certainly miss our lovely office and each other’s company!
